Anthony Rizzo made headlines when he pointed out the obvious. He also perfectly articulated why we avoid talking about politics on this blog/vlog/podcast/whatever-the-fuck this dumb thing is.

Shit doesn’t change. And it’s just the fact of the matter. Politicians really don’t give a fuck about us. All they care about is their own agenda. This is just the way it is and it’s upsetting. I’m sorry to use that language and go off. It’s upsetting.”

Anthony Rizzo

Rizzo referenced his experience with the horrific 2018 mass shooting at his former high school, Stoneman Douglas in Parkland, Florida when he took some time away from the Cubs following that tragedy and conveyed his frustration and grief at a vigil held for the victims.

The same sentiments apply today to the racial injustice that plagues this country. But enough of my boring anti-political political rant. The bottom line is if we’re looking to politicians to solve our problems, we’re looking in the wrong direction.

Power to the people. Peace.
