Like watching a battalion of pinstriped stormtroopers advancing across a smoldering, barren landscape to the tune of the ominous Imperial March, the boring American League East will trudge along to its inevitable conclusion with the hated Yankees on top. But the NL East couldn’t be more interesting with four (or potentially all FIVE?) clubs with a legitimate shot at the division title.
Maybe it’s just our Midwest bias rearing its ugly head, but we think the NL Central division race will be a lot more interesting than most #MLB gasbags have predicted. Meanwhile, we agree the White Sox will finally win their first division title since 2008.
As the old cliché lamely goes, “the West is the best” in the National League as the Dodgers and Padres are the clear top contenders to win the pennant. But the AL is riddled with question marks aside from Oakland’s finely-tuned, 97-win a year green machine.
For the second year in a row, we both predict the White Sox will win the pennant, but for the second year in a row, we disagree if they will actually win it all.
